About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Host/Hostess to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves welcoming guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a positive dining experience from arrival. The role is central to maintaining the high standards of hospitality that Marriott International is known for.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests, determine the number of diners, and seat them at available, clean tables.
• Assist guests by pulling out chairs and placing up-to-date, clean menus before each.
• Guide guests through the dining room and provide assistance as needed.
• Manage table and chair arrangements, modify the general layout, and handle seating for groups with specific requirements.
• Verify that seating is appropriate and that each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and all other standard items.
• Ensure an adequate supply of menus that are current, clean, and wrinkle-free.
• Monitor available seating in dining areas, service flow, safety protocols, and guest well-being.
• Adhere to all chain safety policies and procedures, report dangerous conditions, and obtain required safety certifications.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, including wearing a clean and complete work uniform.
• Use clear and courteous language in all communications, including answering the phone.
• Develop positive professional relationships with colleagues and support team efforts to achieve common goals.
• Perform other tasks requested by supervisors that are consistent with the position.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: 0-1 years of experience. No related work experience is required, though prior experience in a restaurant environment is recommended.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required.
• License or Certification: None specified.

Work Environment and Standards

The role requires ensuring the cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, adhering to continuous cleaning procedures, and complying with quality requirements and standards. The Host/Hostess will be accustomed to working standing, sitting, and moving for extended periods. This includes the ability to move, lift, carry, pull, and place loads weighing a maximum of kilograms independently. Confidentiality regarding brand and hotel-specific information, as well as the protection of company property, is expected.
