About WSP Middle East and the Role
WSP Middle East is seeking experienced Material Inspectors to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is integral to a prestigious road infrastructure project, focusing on ensuring the quality and compliance of construction materials. The role requires a strong background in construction consultancy, specifically within road infrastructure developments.
Role Overview
The Material Inspector will be responsible for site supervision and quality control of materials used across various road infrastructure components, including roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels. This involves comprehensive inspection, testing, and reporting to uphold project specifications and industry standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Oversee and monitor the quality of materials, including asphalt, concrete, and aggregates, used in construction projects.
- Perform on-site material sampling, testing, and analysis as required.
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and material submittals to ensure adherence to design and quality standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on material quality, test results, and non-compliance issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve material-related issues and meet project timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry best practices at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction consultancy, with a focus on road infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.
- Diploma or degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration as a Material Technician, Material Engineer, or a related qualification.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, testing methods, and quality control procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using material testing equipment and software applications relevant to the role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
