About the Role

HanmiGlobal MENA is seeking a qualified Mechanical Inspector to join its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team in Riyadh. This full-time position is for a major residential development project, focusing on ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical construction activities throughout the construction and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, LPG systems, chilled water systems, and associated building services.
  • Review contractor Inspection Requests (IRs) and conduct inspections based on approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Verify that installed materials align with approved submittals and project specifications.
  • Witness pressure testing, flushing, balancing, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Identify non-conforming works and issue inspection observations and reports.
  • Confirm completion of corrective actions before approving completed works.
  • Coordinate inspections with Resident Engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Review inspection reports, testing records, and quality documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs and daily reports.
  • Participate in quality audits and project handover inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality, HSE, Environmental, and project governance requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector is required. Previous experience on residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments is beneficial. Experience with PMC, engineering consultants, or international contractors is preferred. Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers is required where applicable.

Technical Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems is essential. Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and relevant international standards is required. The ability to review shop drawings and inspection documentation, along with experience in testing and commissioning procedures, is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected. Key competencies include technical competence, attention to detail, strong inspection and reporting skills, effective communication and teamwork, integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to quality and safety. Mechanical inspection or QA/QC certifications are considered an advantage.
