About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh is seeking a Room Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of its room service department. This full-time management position involves directing, training, and supporting employees in delivering food and beverage services to guestrooms and hospitality suites. The primary objective is to ensure exceptional guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to operational budgets and supporting the broader food and beverage and culinary teams.

Operational Management

• Supervise and manage all daily room service operations, ensuring compliance with established policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee staffing levels to effectively meet guest service demands, operational needs, and financial objectives.
• Administer property policies fairly and consistently, communicating areas needing attention to staff and ensuring proper follow-through.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of employee positions to perform duties in their absence when necessary.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, influence, and encourage team members, fostering an environment of mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
• Serve as a role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and advocating for sound financial and business decision-making with honesty and integrity.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring their performance.
• Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work efficiently and effectively.
• Identify developmental and educational needs of others, providing coaching, mentoring, or developing formal training programs.
• Support a departmental orientation program for new hires and monitor adherence to all cash handling and credit policies and procedures.

Guest Experience and Financial Oversight

• Ensure exceptional customer service by understanding guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching to improve service performance.
• Interact with guests, both in person and via phone, to obtain feedback on product quality, service levels, and overall satisfaction.
• Handle guest problems and complaints effectively, setting a positive example for guest relations.
• Participate in managing the department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals.
• Comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in the financial management of the department.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Room Service Manager position should meet one of the following criteria:

• A high school diploma or GED combined with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
• A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, along with 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
