About the Role

alfanar, a company with operations in construction, manufacturing, and design, is seeking a Section Manager General Insurance - Facility for its operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the company's insurance coverage is adequate and aligns with its actual risk exposure. This involves maintaining full compliance with policy terms and conditions, as well as adhering to recommendations from insurers and risk assessment firms. The objective is to prevent coverage gaps or claim denials that may arise from non-compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor the adequacy of insurance coverage against operational risks.
  • Verify compliance with all policy terms and conditions.
  • Follow up on recommendations issued by insurers and risk assessment companies.
  • Monitor and update the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Head Office.
  • Prepare periodic reports, or reports upon identification of risks or insurance gaps.
  • Review the scope of coverage, limits, deductibles, and exclusions of insurance policies.
  • Ensure policies are aligned with the nature of operations, assets, and projects.
  • Identify any insurance gaps and submit recommendations for their resolution.
  • Compile and document all policy conditions, warranties, and operational obligations in a structured register.
  • Verify the implementation of obligations in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Issue alerts regarding any non-compliance that could affect the validity of claims.
  • Review and classify recommendations from insurers and risk assessment firms based on risk severity.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to assess the feasibility of implementing recommendations.
  • Propose technical or operational alternatives that provide an equivalent level of protection, where necessary.
  • Coordinate with the Head Office to obtain approval for alternatives and formally close recommendations with the insurer.

Leadership and Accountability

This role requires strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to recruit, develop, and manage high-performing individuals, as well as address underperformance. The Section Manager is expected to take full responsibility for their operational area, anticipate and proactively prevent problems, and make timely, appropriate decisions. Delivering required results with the specified quality and cost is essential, along with making a tangible positive impact that exceeds business expectations.

Business and Organizational Development

The position involves transforming corporate goals into actionable business plans, executing these plans, and monitoring performance to initiate corrective actions. This includes providing periodic work progress reports, monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses for cost efficiency, and developing the organizational structure to meet current and future requirements. Ensuring the availability and deployment of accurate job descriptions for all roles is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the role requires developing and coordinating well-defined systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities, and promoting the utilization of IT solutions relevant to the business.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or any relevant field.
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Agency Management.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • In-depth Insurance Knowledge.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Experience with Health Insurance.
  • Ability in Rate Change Analysis.
