Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

Loba Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and platforms within Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL. The Senior Data Engineer will support analytics, AI initiatives, and business decision-making by ensuring reliable, well-structured, and documented data products through an end-to-end medallion architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize end-to-end medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) using Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Dataflows Gen2.
• Enforce engineering best practices, including versioning, CI/CD, and Git-based recovery workflows for data solutions.
• Develop a reusable, API-led integration layer to connect various source systems, including Premier, Salesforce, Oracle Primavera Cloud, and Azure SQL.
• Create ingestion frameworks for structured and semi-structured data, primarily utilizing REST APIs.
• Curate, validate, and optimize datasets specifically for machine learning/AI model training, feature engineering, AI pricing intelligence, and forecasting applications.
• Implement quality gates between data layers, establish automated monitoring and alerting systems, and maintain clear data lineage.
• Ensure data residency compliance, in-tenant security, and proper role-based access control within data platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Deliver operational runbooks, comprehensive documentation, and data quality scorecards to ensure operational efficiency and transparency.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering or a related field. The position requires a strong background in designing and implementing data solutions, particularly within Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL environments.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2).
• Expertise in Azure SQL and related Azure data services.
• Experience with API-led integration and developing ingestion frameworks for various data types.
• Knowledge of data quality implementation, monitoring, and governance practices.
• Familiarity with engineering best practices, CI/CD, and Git-based workflows.
