About IDOM and the Opportunity

IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager (Mega Civil Project) to join our Project and Construction Management team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within our Infrastructure Division. The role focuses on significant civil engineering and transportation projects, specifically involving roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments.

The Senior Project Manager Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the overall delivery of complex projects. This involves providing comprehensive support to the Site Team, fostering collaborative teamwork, offering critical technical input, and consistently meeting client objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to project lifecycle management and stakeholder engagement within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Director in the day-to-day running and strategic oversight of the project.
• Advise on the adequacy of design and information supplied, identifying and resolving any outstanding or conflicting design issues.
• Liaise effectively with all discipline Managers and Site Team leaders to ensure seamless communication on project matters.
• Develop and implement robust procedures for planning, managing, supervising construction works, and controlling project costs.
• Review and approve technical documents submitted to the Client by contractors.
• Monitor overall project progress and resource utilization, initiating corrective actions as necessary to maintain schedule and budget.
• Ensure project deliverables consistently meet agreed standards and satisfy stakeholder requirements at every stage.
• Oversee project stakeholder relationships, adjusting engagement strategies and plans to optimize collaboration.
• Apply established change control and configuration management processes.
• Report project progress through agreed channels, including highlight reports and end-stage assessments.
• Maintain awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and assess their impact.
• Contribute to the resolution of technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Take a proactive role in establishing, assessing, and evaluating project management processes, sharing knowledge, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing advice.
• Apply strong analytical, project management, and technical writing skills at a task level.
• Adopt and apply appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards.
• Identify and secure necessary support and advice for the effective management, planning, and control of the project.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as required by the Client or project needs.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 20 years of proven experience in supervising the construction of complex projects.
• Demonstrated experience primarily as a Consultant. Candidates with exclusive contractor experience will not be considered.
• Experience in at least one or more significant ROADS projects is mandatory. Candidates without clear road project experience will not be considered.
• Specific expertise in Civil Engineering and Transportation projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments.

• Strong leadership and communication skills to foster teamwork and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and implement robust project management procedures and control mechanisms.
• Proficiency in applying change control, configuration management, and quality assurance processes.
• Willingness to work effectively within a multinational firm environment.
• For non-Saudi candidates, possession of a transferable Iqama is required.
• A valid SCE membership is essential.
