Site Manager Electrical (Substation)

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Site Manager Electrical (Substation) to oversee electrical construction execution for projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires a professional with a strong background in electrical engineering and extensive experience in EHV/HV substation projects, particularly those involving 380kV BSPs.

Role Overview

The Site Manager Electrical will be responsible for the overall electrical construction execution, site coordination, and timely project completion in accordance with SEC standards and project requirements. The role involves managing subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety, and monitoring progress for 380kV substation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical construction activities for 380kV substation/BSP projects.
• Plan and monitor site execution, including manpower, materials, equipment, and daily progress.
• Coordinate with SEC, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure all works comply with SEC standards, approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, cable works, equipment erection, and related electrical activities.
• Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
• Review drawings, method statements, ITPs, and technical documents prior to execution.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and timely completion of their scope.
• Coordinate with Civil, Protection & Control, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, and Procurement teams.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure proper closure of technical and construction issues.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and SEC inspection/approval activities.
• Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote a zero-incident project execution environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in EHV/HV substation construction projects, including 380kV substations.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Site Manager or Construction Manager role.
• Proven hands-on experience with SEC projects and SEC construction standards.
• Strong knowledge of GIS installation, power transformers, switchgear, protection systems, cable works, and commissioning activities.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid SEC approval (Client Approval) is required.

SEC-Specific Requirements

• Experience working on SEC-approved 380kV Substation Projects.
• Familiarity with SEC General Specifications (SGS), SEC Safety Regulations, and SEC project execution procedures.
• Ability to coordinate directly with SEC Project Management and Construction Supervision teams.
