About the Sr. HSE Engineer Role at alfanar Electric

alfanar Group is seeking a Sr. HSE Engineer to join the alfanar Electric team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to upholding and enhancing health, safety, and environmental standards across operations, contributing technical expertise to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

Role Purpose and Strategic Contribution

The Sr. HSE Engineer supports the comprehensive implementation of HSE systems and practices. This involves conducting advanced risk assessments, diligently monitoring site conditions, and ensuring strict compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. The position is critical in providing specialized technical insights to continuously improve HSE standards and plays a key part in emergency preparedness and response activities.

Key HSE Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed HSE risk assessments and evaluate protection and prevention measures.
• Validate protection systems and verify compliance with international standards and company policies.
• Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective measures to reduce incidents.
• Apply HSE requirements within engineering and operational processes.
• Review technical documentation and designs to verify safety considerations and environmental compliance.
• Prepare HSE awareness content and support the delivery of training sessions.
• Provide technical information to employees and contractors to ensure understanding of safety rules.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, participating in drills and exercises.
• Support the preparation of site evacuation procedures and response materials.
• Perform HSE inspections, collect data on compliance and site conditions, and prepare detailed HSE reports with findings and recommended corrective actions.
• Carry out on-site audits, inspections, and safety checks to ensure adherence to standards, recording observations, highlighting risks, and identifying required improvements.
• Draft and maintain HSE documentation, incident logs, and analysis reports, supporting the preparation of root-cause analyses and recommendations after incidents.
• Research and suggest updates to HSE procedures based on industry best practices, and analyze incident trends to propose enhancements to safety systems.

Operational Management and Quality Assurance

• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and the execution of planned tasks.
• Solve related problems as they arise and escalate complex operational issues when necessary.
• Ensure quality requirements are met to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities where possible.
• Comply with all related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and the delivery of high-quality products/services.
