About the Role

Wood is seeking a Senior HSE Engineer to join their team. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience within the oil and gas, hydrocarbon refinery, and petrochemical industries, with a focus on engineering design projects. The role is based in Dhahran, with necessary visits to Ras Tannurah, Saudi Arabia.

Role Context

Wood supports global clients with advanced facilities, aiming for predictable, safe, and fast project delivery worldwide, while contributing to net-zero initiatives. This role is integral to ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained and improved throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop annual HSE improvement plans aligned with Company and Client strategic objectives.
• Manage project HSE interface requirements, ensuring compliance with existing documents and contributing to future plans.
• Communicate HSE interface document requirements to all relevant personnel.
• Oversee HSE incident investigations and ensure appropriate reporting.
• Assist in coordinating internal and external HSE audits.
• Communicate lessons learned from incidents and accidents to all relevant parties.
• Promote and communicate lessons learned from within projects, reporting deficiencies and recording all reportable issues in HSE systems.
• Ensure project emergency response arrangements are in place and communicated, aligning with Client requirements when they take precedence.
• Liaise with and build relationships with Client HSE Representatives and offshore/site Safety Representatives.
• Manage attendance and participation in project HSE meetings, workshops, and forums.
• Maintain a system for monitoring HSE performance.
• Develop an offshore/site HSE visit program for self, project/contract management, and Corporate HSE management.
• Promote workforce involvement in all HSE activities, initiatives, and programs.

Qualifications and Experience

• C&G, ONC/HNC or equivalent in a Technical, HSE, or related industry.
• NEBOSH Certificate.
• NVQ Level 4 IOSH (desirable).
• A minimum of 5 years in a technical role or association with an HSE role.

Required Skills

• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• High level of communication skills, both written and spoken.
