OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SAFETY OFFICER

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an Occupational Health Safety Officer to join their team in Medina. This full-time role involves coordinating health and safety systems, identifying hazards, and assessing risks to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Role Overview

The Occupational Health Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety controls, providing expert advice on accident prevention and occupational health to management and staff. The role focuses on promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote occupational health and safety within the organization and develop safer working practices.
• Inspect workplaces and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify potential hazards and risks.
• Ensure workplaces conform to organizational procedures and established safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to maintain the safety of worksites and work practices.
• Ensure correct storage of dangerous materials to prevent occupational hazards.
• Identify and test work areas for potential accident and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures.
• Ensure the organization is aware of and complies with all legislation related to duty of care, workplace activities, and the use of plant, equipment, and substances.
• Record and report hazards, accidents, injuries, and health issues within the workplace.
• Assist with the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes, and recommend remedial actions.
• Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on health and safety practices and legislation.
• Assist with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries to facilitate a satisfactory return to work.
• Coordinate emergency procedures, including confined space rescues, firefighting, and first aid crews.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate health and safety systems and implement effective controls.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Medina. The role requires active engagement across various departments to ensure comprehensive safety coverage.
