About the Role

Nestlé Saudi Arabia is seeking an Assistant Manager, Customs Clearance for a temporary position in Jeddah. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end customs clearance processes, ensuring smooth import/export operations, timely goods receipt, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Assistant Manager will also focus on continuous improvement of shipment lead time and service performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and extract new shipments from internal platforms and email updates daily.
  • Assign shipment categories and share details with clearing agents.
  • Send pre-arrival notifications to warehouse teams across all DCs.
  • Track shipment arrival status with warehouse teams and brokers, ensuring correct receipt and goods-receipting.
  • Check and share air and road shipment emails, including required shipping documents.
  • Perform daily checks through FASAH reports to confirm clearance status and readiness for sale.
  • Follow up on shipments under Q-block status with warehouse teams and review related reports.
  • Verify SFDA shipment status and coordinate with SFDA inspectors for sample collection.
  • Manage shipment-related quality issues by coordinating with shipping lines, quality teams, IMS, and brokers.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Update sea shipment tracker files and PO sheets.
  • Maintain and update the daily SFDA tracking sheet.
  • Review daily DOR operation sheets per broker to track shipment progress.
  • Update container tracking sheets and transportation tracking files.
  • Update the delivery plan report and refresh the daily delivery plan schedule.
  • Conduct daily health checks on in-yard container reports to support zero in-yard container targets.

Stakeholder and Broker Coordination

  • Follow up with IMS teams regarding missing documents for customs clearance.
  • Ensure brokers receive required documents in advance for timely clearance.
  • Coordinate with Tax, RSA, Finance, Warehouse, IMS, DSP, Quality, and broker teams to resolve operational blockers.
  • Maintain regular communication with clearing agents on shipment status, documents, delivery plans, and performance.
  • Monitor clearing agent delivery and operational performance daily.
  • Lead daily DOR meetings with clearing agents and participate in OPC calls.
  • Conduct monthly face-to-face broker performance review meetings.
  • Track and review lead time KPIs, demurrage, detention, and clearance-related delays.

Export and Financial Coordination

  • Coordinate export shipments from Saudi warehouses to other OPCs.
  • Follow up on export documentation, shipment readiness, and broker support.
  • Support cross-market shipment coordination.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to close open purchase orders and resolve GR/IR pending items.
  • Raise payment tickets and follow the required payment workflow.
  • Follow up on broker-related payments, freight invoices, and lab test payments.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in customs clearance or a related field. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a dynamic environment.
