About the Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking an Assistant Manager, Restaurants to join our team in Makkah, with operations also spanning Jeddah. This full-time position is critical for the daily supervision of our restaurant operations, including bars and room service where applicable. The role focuses on enhancing guest and employee satisfaction, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Core Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager, Restaurants will play a key role in maintaining high operational standards and service excellence across all dining areas. This involves assisting with menu planning, ensuring strict sanitation standards, and actively supporting the service team during peak meal periods. A primary objective is to continually improve both guest and employee satisfaction through effective management and training initiatives.

Operational Leadership and Team Supervision

• Assist in supervising daily shift operations and oversee restaurant and related areas in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.
• Handle employee questions and concerns, monitor performance to ensure expectations are met, and provide constructive feedback based on service behaviors.
• Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms, and communicate any issues regarding food quality and service levels to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures, including monitoring alcohol beverage service in accordance with local laws.
• Manage operations to achieve or exceed budgeted goals and perform duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary, including opening and closing shifts.
• Participate in department meetings, communicating clear and consistent messages regarding departmental goals.

Guest Experience and Service Excellence

• Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, actively striving to improve service performance.
• Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are consistently met.
• Encourage employees to provide excellent customer service within established guidelines and set a positive example for guest relations.
• Handle guest problems and complaints, seeking assistance from a supervisor when necessary, and assist in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
• Meet and greet guests to ensure a welcoming and attentive dining experience.

Human Resources and Training

• Determine training needs to accomplish departmental goals and implement effective training plans.
• Supervise ongoing training initiatives and utilize all available on-the-job training tools for employees.
• Communicate performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
• Coach and counsel employees regarding performance on an ongoing basis to foster continuous improvement.

Additional Duties

• Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions and solve problems effectively.
• Assist servers and hosts on the floor during meal periods and high-demand times to ensure smooth service.
• Recognize and uphold standards for good quality products and presentations.
