The Role of Logistics Manager

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Logistics Manager for a full-time position in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This role is responsible for the comprehensive planning, direction, and control of all logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, import/export operations, customs clearance, and distribution within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and international markets. The Logistics Manager ensures compliance with group policies and Saudi regulations, optimizes operational efficiency and costs, and guarantees products are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage inbound and outbound transportation activities across KSA and GCC markets.
• Oversee warehouse and distribution center operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective product delivery.
• Monitor distribution center activities and coordinate with procurement, CIC, production, and business teams.
• Optimize transportation routes and warehouse utilization.
• Coordinate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) implementation from audits, inspections, deviations, or customer complaints.
• Ensure all logistics activities adhere to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Manage the company-owned fleet, including vehicle/bike utilization, maintenance planning, registration, insurance, and licensing, ensuring compliance with driver qualifications and road safety.
• Develop and manage logistics operating budgets, monitoring transportation, warehousing, customs, and distribution costs.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, Saudi customs regulations, and import/export requirements in alignment with the EMEA Trade Compliance Team.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers, freight forwarders, and government authorities.
• Maintain accurate shipping and trade documentation and monitor changes in regulatory requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with requirements issued by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) regarding storage, transportation, distribution, importation, and traceability of pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
• Maintain compliance with Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP/GDP) across all warehousing and transportation activities.
• Select, evaluate, and manage transportation providers and logistics service partners in collaboration with the procurement and sourcing department.
• Lead and develop logistics, warehouse, DC, and transportation teams, establishing performance objectives and conducting regular evaluations.
• Monitor logistics KPIs, prepare management reports, and drive cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in logistics management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and customs.
• Strong understanding of Saudi regulations, including Labor Law, Customs regulations (ZATCA), and Transport General Authority (TGA) requirements.
• Experience with SFDA requirements for pharmaceutical and healthcare product logistics.
• Proficiency in budget and cost management, with a track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives.
• Experience in vendor and carrier management, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
• Leadership skills to manage and develop logistics, warehouse, and transportation teams.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities covering operations in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working within a global organization, collaborating with international teams and ensuring compliance with both local and group-level policies.
