RADIOGRAPHER CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LABORATORY INVASIVE CARDIOLOGY LAB

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Jeddah is seeking a Radiographer for its Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Invasive Cardiology Lab. This full-time role focuses on maximizing radiation protection and ensuring safe radiation practices for both staff and patients. The Radiographer will be responsible for the evaluation and operation of all radiographic equipment within the lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and appropriate use of radiographic equipment and observe radiation safety practices within the catheterization team.
• Achieve optimal image quality with the lowest possible dose parameters, adhering to the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle.
• Perform daily equipment checks, simple troubleshooting, and notify the Senior Radiographer of malfunctions or repair needs.
• Maintain all equipment properly and inform the Senior Radiographer of safety hazards or requirements for repair/preventative maintenance.
• Carry out catheterization procedures under the direction of a Cardiologist, including correct positioning of radiographic equipment and adjustment of magnification and collimation per protocol.
• Edit, archive, and retrieve patient images using networking and media storage systems, maintaining network accuracy daily.
• Collect and distribute radiation monitoring devices monthly, distribute report findings to staff, and maintain a logbook.
• Responsible for annual cleaning and screening of radiation protection devices, maintaining a tracking system and documentation.
• Ensure adequate levels of supplies and materials, informing the Senior Radiographer of any inventory reductions.
• Assist with emergency resuscitation measures and participate in research projects, program development, data collection, staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education.
• Participate in departmental quality control and quality improvement programs.
• Comply with hospital radiation safety rules and regulations, in accordance with KACST, * CARE, and other national or international regulatory bodies.
• Adhere to section policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Establish a continuous quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA, and other accreditation agency standards.
• Apply and ensure compliance with the ALARA principle for all procedures involving radiation exposure.
• Follow all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and others’ research, education, training, and development as applicable.
• Perform other related duties as required.
