About Taj HR and the Role

Taj HR is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to driving revenue growth within the freight and logistics sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to expand the enterprise and SME customer base, cultivating long-term client relationships, and ensuring seamless service delivery in partnership with operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and related logistics services.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel account plans tailored for target markets, industries, and geographies.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, accurately forecast sales, and achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Conduct needs assessments, present customized solutions, and prepare compelling proposals and bids.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, and Compliance teams to ensure feasible, competitive, and compliant service offerings.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform business strategy.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to build and strengthen the external network.
  • Manage post-sale onboarding processes to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, dashboards, and revenue analyses for leadership review.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in business development within the freight and logistics sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and expanding key accounts.
  • Deep knowledge of freight modes (air, ocean, road, rail), customs procedures, Incoterms, and regulatory considerations.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (*, Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to travel as needed and operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Essential Skills

  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and proposal-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Data analysis and forecasting skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, freight brokerage, or 3PL integrations.
  • Understanding of digital freight platforms, modal optimization, and cost-to-serve modeling.
  • Certifications such as CCLR, CPSM, or similar.
