Captain Bellstand

About the Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking a Captain Bellstand to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves welcoming guests, providing information about hotel services, and assisting with luggage and transportation needs. The role is based in Makkah, with operations also extending to Jeddah, and requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests, provide information on hotel amenities, services, hours of operation, and local activities.
• Assist guests and visitors with entering and exiting the hotel and vehicles, including loading and unloading luggage.
• Store and retrieve guest luggage, and transport it to and from rooms or designated bell stand areas.
• Provide directions to destinations and arrange transportation (*, taxi, shuttle) for guests, recording advance requests as needed.
• Dispatch bell staff or service personnel and inform guests of parking procedures.
• Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with resolved requests or problems.
• Serve as a departmental role model, assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.

Operational Duties and Standards

• Comply with all company safety and security policies; report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Support co-workers with dignity and respect, and contribute to team goals.
• Adhere to quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, using clear and professional language.
• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette and respond to employee concerns.
• Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on the property.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds (** Kg) without assistance.
• Ability to assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing more than 75 pounds (** Kg).
• Capacity to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Ability to move at speeds required for work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Capability to read and visually verify information in various formats (*, small print).
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of various sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Capability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps, and ascend/descend stairs and/or service ramps.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: Less than 1 year of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None required.
