About Mattex Group and the Role

Mattex Group, a leading global manufacturer of polymer-based synthetic materials including carpet backings, artificial grass yarns, polypropylene staple fibers, and geotextiles, is seeking a skilled Technician to join its team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on industrial maintenance and operations within our manufacturing facility.

Role Purpose

The Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of production machinery, primarily focusing on extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment. This role involves both preventive and breakdown maintenance, alongside operational duties to maintain product quality and output.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on production machinery, covering mechanical components (gearboxes, bearings, pumps, hydraulic/pneumatic systems) and electrical systems (panels, motors, PLCs, sensors, control systems).
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Conduct routine inspections, alignments, lubrication schedules, and scheduled electrical maintenance and safety checks.
• Operate and monitor extrusion lines (tape/yarn/film extrusion), setting and adjusting process parameters to ensure consistent product quality and output.
• Conduct in-process quality checks, inspecting raw materials, in-process fabric/yarn, and finished goods for compliance with quality specifications and standards.
• Identify and document defects, coordinating with production and maintenance teams to address root causes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and electrical wiring diagrams to guide installation, maintenance, and repair work.
• Maintain quality inspection records, test reports, and batch traceability documentation.
• Support automation and instrumentation upgrades and ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Quality Control, or a related technical field.

Experience and Skills

• 2-5 years of prior hands-on experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Experience ideally within the textiles, plastics, or polymer industry.
• Demonstrated focus on industrial maintenance, extrusion operations, or quality control.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical documentation such as engineering drawings and schematics.

This full-time Technician role is based at the Mattex Group facility in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The position operates within a manufacturing plant environment, contributing to the production of polymer-based synthetic materials.
