Housekeeping Supervisor

About the Role

As a Housekeeping Supervisor at Marriott International, specifically with The Ritz-Carlton, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences by maintaining the highest quality standards in guest rooms and public areas. This full-time position involves upholding The Ritz-Carlton's “Gold Standards,” which are foundational to its global leadership in luxury hospitality, fostering an environment of creativity, thoughtfulness, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and the pool after cleaning to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Manage room status by running reports, verifying discrepancies, prioritizing cleaning, and updating departing guest room statuses.
• Support Housekeeping management in daily operations, coordinating efforts with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments.
• Document and resolve discrepant room issues in collaboration with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments, and ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately.
• Assist management with various HR functions including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality, protecting company assets.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, fostering positive working relationships and responding appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards across all areas of responsibility.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with assistance.
• Capable of pushing and pulling loaded housekeeping carts and other machinery over various surfaces.
• Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods throughout a work shift.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Competency in using computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
• Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or * equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None required.
