About the Role

SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is seeking a Kannada Language Expert for a remote, hourly contract position. This role involves reviewing AI-generated Kannada content and creating high-quality Kannada reference content. The expert will evaluate language quality, provide precise written feedback, and contribute to improving AI models.

Role Context and Impact

As a Kannada Language Specialist (SME), you will play a direct role in enhancing the world's premier AI models. Your expertise will ensure that Kannada language output from these models is natural, reliable, culturally accurate, and clearly written. SME Careers delivers training data for major AI companies and foundation-model labs.

Key Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated Kannada content and/or create high-quality Kannada reference content.
• Evaluate language quality and step-by-step reasoning, providing precise written feedback.
• Assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts.
• Identify errors in meaning, mistranslation, register (formal vs. informal), ambiguity, and logical consistency.
• Fact-check claims as needed.
• Write high-quality rewrites and model answers demonstrating best practices in Kannada writing.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.
• Review and quality-check existing translations of English science benchmark questions (ARC) in Kannada.
• Compare original translations and AI-proposed corrections against English sources, focusing on accuracy and faithfulness.
• Review questions and answer choices, select appropriate outcomes (accept original, accept AI correction, edit final translation, or escalate), and provide brief review comments.
• Preserve source meaning, difficulty, answer structure, scientific terminology, and protected elements while adhering to core and language-specific guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in the Kannada language.

Work Environment and Type

This is a contract position that operates on an hourly, remote basis. The role offers flexibility while contributing to advanced AI data services.
