About the Role

Maaden is seeking a Lead Specialist Autonomous Platforms to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to leading specialized technical solutions within the Sustainability & Resource Growth division. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying autonomous platforms that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and innovation across the organization.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Lead Specialist manages complex initiatives, ensuring the maintenance of scalable and reliable autonomous systems. This position plays a critical role in enabling business value through the application of advanced technologies and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The role involves guiding multidisciplinary delivery teams and overseeing the deployment of autonomous capabilities into operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of autonomous platform architectures, including the integration of robotics, IoT, AI, and control systems.
• Define technical standards, design patterns, and system architectures aligned with enterprise and innovation strategies.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of autonomous platforms and systems.
• Oversee the deployment of autonomous capabilities into operational environments, maintaining reliability and usability.
• Integrate sensors, control systems, data platforms, and analytics layers.
• Coordinate integration between Operational Technology (OT) and IT systems to enable real-time and intelligent operations.
• Resolve technical dependencies and system interoperability challenges.

Performance, Safety, and Governance

• Maintain high performance, reliability, and resilience of autonomous systems.
• Define monitoring frameworks, operational performance benchmarks, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and operational risk requirements, especially in industrial environments.
• Maintain compliance with enterprise governance frameworks, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Identify and manage risks related to autonomous systems deployment and scaling.
• Support architecture and technical reviews to maintain compliance and quality.

Collaboration and Innovation

• Collaborate with Innovation, Operations, Engineering, and Data & AI teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
• Translate business and operational requirements into technical autonomous platform solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and influence decision-making across stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of autonomous platform capabilities, tools, and methodologies.
• Identify and assess emerging technologies such as AI-driven automation, robotics, digital twins, and edge computing.
• Support innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and value realization.

Qualifications and Success Indicators

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in autonomous platforms or related technical fields. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to:

• Deliver autonomous platform solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and innovation.
• Develop scalable, modular autonomous platform architectures aligned with enterprise and innovation strategies.
• Successfully integrate sensors, control systems, data platforms, analytics layers, OT, and IT systems to enable real-time intelligent operations.
• Define robust monitoring frameworks, operational performance benchmarks, and KPIs for autonomous systems.
• Maintain stringent compliance with enterprise governance frameworks, cybersecurity requirements, regulatory standards, safety standards, and operational risk requirements.
