The Role of Salesman

This full-time Salesman position is based in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia. As part of the sales team, the primary objective is to maximize sales volume, minimize product waste, achieve distribution targets, implement merchandising standards, and ensure high levels of customer service. The role also involves collecting accounts receivable and providing the supervisor with market information to identify sales opportunities. Adherence to operating procedures is essential to maintain consistent standards across KSA.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell the full range of products to an agreed list of customers, with performance measured against sales targets and waste levels kept below the agreed target.
• Provide customer service as approved by the supervisor, maintaining call frequency and adhering to the daily route plan.
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks, ensuring the sales vehicle is clean and roadworthy, and reporting any defects or damage promptly.
• Agree daily order requirements for the next selling period with the supervisor.
• Maintain individual customer stock levels to agreed requirements to minimize out-of-stock situations.
• Implement agreed in-store merchandising standards as communicated by the supervisor, coordinating with company merchandisers where applicable.
• Advise the supervisor of any relevant competitor activity in the assigned area during daily debriefing sessions.
• Perform daily reconciliation of all cheques, cash, and credit sales, ensuring zero stock and cash shortages.
• Maintain a neat and presentable appearance at all times.
• Adhere to high driving standards and obey all driving regulations.

Performance Measurement

Performance in this role will be measured against specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Consistent failure to meet these targets may lead to disciplinary action.

• Daily/weekly sales versus planned sales.
• Daily positive calls versus plan.
• Daily call sequence versus plan.
• Stales versus target.
• Zero cash and stock shortages.

Professional Development

The Salesman will be required to attend training courses designed to enhance professionalism and customer service skills. Daily debriefing sessions with the supervisor are also a mandatory part of the role.
