Senior Technical Director (Contracting)

About the Role

Aroma City Group is seeking a Senior Technical Director (Contracting) to lead the technical and design delivery of multidisciplinary MEP systems. This full-time role involves overseeing complex projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and healthcare sectors, ensuring compliance with international standards and timely execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical delivery of multidisciplinary MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, fire alarm, and electrical systems for various project types.
• Direct design development, technical reviews, shop drawing preparation, coordination, and value engineering to ensure accuracy, constructability, quality, and timely project delivery.
• Ensure all MEP designs, specifications, equipment selections, and technical documentation comply with applicable local regulations and international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, DIN, BS, EU, UPC, IPC, NFPA, and energy codes).
• Review design drawings, technical specifications, equipment data sheets, material submittals, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and construction documentation prior to consultant or client submission and approval.
• Lead and supervise technical and design teams, delegating responsibilities, monitoring productivity and project progress, establishing priorities, and maintaining high technical and performance standards.
• Coordinate with project management, operations, procurement, and cost control teams on BOQs, technical requirements, variation orders, approvals, and construction deliverables.
• Manage consultant and client technical approvals, conduct site inspections, resolve interdisciplinary coordination issues, and ensure efficient transfer of approved documentation to project execution teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of extensive experience in MEP design and engineering for residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and other complex facilities.
• Expert-level knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, fire alarm, electrical, and integrated MEP system design for design-and-build projects.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable international engineering codes and standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, DIN, BS, EU, UPC, IPC, NFPA, and energy-efficiency requirements.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in technical leadership, multidisciplinary design coordination, value engineering, shop drawings, BOQ preparation, material approvals, and construction documentation.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams, make complex technical decisions, manage competing priorities, coordinate across functions, and protect project and organizational interests.
• Fluent English communication skills across writing, reading, and conversation. Arabic language proficiency is considered an added advantage.
