About the Role

Mirai Arabian International Company Limited is seeking an Accounting Lead to establish and manage a robust local accounting function. This full-time position reports to the Senior Manager Finance and involves serving as the company's primary accounting and compliance advisor. The role combines direct ownership of accounting delivery with proactive policy and control improvement, management insight, and strategic initiatives such as ERP implementation and the transition to an in-house accounting model. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Accounting Governance and Operations

The Accounting Lead will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of all accounting operations. Key duties include:

  • Developing, documenting, and maintaining accounting policies, standard operating procedures, workflows, approval authorities, and internal controls aligned with local requirements and group standards.
  • Proactively assessing the control environment, identifying accounting risks, gaps, and inefficiencies, and leading approved changes.
  • Owning the integrity of the general ledger and overseeing the accurate and complete recording of financial transactions.
  • Adhering to monthly, quarterly, and annual close timetables, reviewing balance-sheet reconciliations, and maintaining an appropriate chart of accounts.
  • Overseeing sales invoicing, accounts payable, and payment preparation, and driving timely clearance of aged items.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

This role involves comprehensive financial reporting and analysis to support management decision-making and stakeholder communication.

  • Preparing timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, accounting analyses, and group reporting submissions.
  • Analyzing financial performance, costs, cash position, working capital, balance-sheet exposures, and compliance matters.
  • Translating complex accounting information into clear insights and practical recommendations for management.
  • Owning the accounting framework for government and other incentive programs, including appropriate recognition, accrual, booking, and presentation.
  • Maintaining a complete tracker of incentive applications, approvals, claims, conditions, receipts, and outstanding balances, and providing proactive reporting.

Compliance and Advisory

The Accounting Lead will ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and provide expert financial guidance across the organization.

  • Coordinating the accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and other statutory requirements.
  • Maintaining tax records and monitoring regulatory changes to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Serving as the local finance contact for tax advisors, external and internal auditors, and other professional service providers.
  • Coordinating audit schedules and leading the timely resolution of audit queries.
  • Acting as the local advisor to management, employees, and process owners on finance procedures, procurement, invoicing, payments, documentation, approvals, and compliance requirements.

Strategic Initiatives and Transformation

This role plays a critical part in aligning local accounting practices with group standards and driving significant finance transformation projects.

  • Aligning local close, reporting, accounting treatments, controls, audit requirements, and finance processes with group expectations (Scopely) while ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Acting as the principal accounting representative throughout ERP design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Defining the chart of accounts, financial dimensions, accounting workflows, user roles, and reporting requirements within the ERP.
  • Developing and executing a structured transition plan from outsourced or shared-service partners to a sustainable in-house accounting model.
  • Validating the completeness and accuracy of historical records and establishing clear internal ownership and service expectations during the transition.

Required Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA or equivalent certification is preferred.
