About the Role

Meridial Marketplace is seeking an Arabic (Yemeni) Language Specialist to serve as an AI Trainer. This contract role, based in Saudi Arabia, involves contributing to the development of advanced language models by providing expert linguistic and cultural insights into Yemeni Arabic. The position offers a pay range of $8 to $65 per hour, with the final rate determined by experience, expertise, and geographic location.

Role Context and Objective

Large-scale language models are evolving into powerful tools for communication, education, and cultural understanding. High-quality training data is essential for these AI models to accurately capture the nuances of Yemeni Arabic, including its vocabulary, dialects, grammar, idiomatic expressions, and cultural context. This role is critical in providing the foundational training data needed to enhance AI's linguistic and cultural accuracy, thereby helping to preserve linguistic heritage and support authentic interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with advanced language models by conversing in Yemeni Arabic across a diverse range of topics.
• Verify the linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance of model responses.
• Identify and document reproducible error traces to help harden model reasoning.
• Suggest improvements for prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
• Challenge language models on aspects such as contextual interpretation, dialectical distinctions, semantic accuracy, and cultural nuance.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Linguistics, Arabic Studies, Translation, or a related field. Professional experience in teaching, translation, language documentation, or community work is also highly valued and indicates a strong fit for the role. Essential to this position is the ability to communicate clearly and metacognitively, demonstrating a thorough understanding of your work.

Contractual Details and Requirements

This is a contract position. As a contractor, you are required to supply your own secure computer and a high-speed internet connection. Company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and paid time off do not apply to this role.
