ACWA Power is seeking a Control Room Operator to join their team. This is a full-time position for an experienced professional ready to contribute to plant operations.

Role Summary

The Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling the operational parameters of the unit/plant. This role requires close coordination with other operators on all activities that impact plant operation, ensuring smooth and safe functioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety rules and regulations and maintain familiarity with fire equipment in the area.
• Understand plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, operation and control logics, emergency operation procedures, and other relevant documentation.
• Monitor all unit parameters, record periodic readings on log sheets, and summarize shift activities/events in the log book.
• Follow instructions from the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor, coordinating with other operators on all activities.
• Respond promptly and effectively to abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate and ensure proper Lock Out & Tag Out procedures during equipment isolation for maintenance, as per approved Permit To Work procedures. Normalize equipment as instructed after cancellation.
• Inspect the unit and auxiliaries during the shift to ensure all equipment parameters are within limits, reporting any abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor/SCE.
• Perform periodic protection tests under the supervision of the SCE/Supervisor, maintaining accurate records. Execute equipment changeovers according to preset schedules.
• Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment and follow up on rectification.
• Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators.
• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls.
• Report deviations in the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
• Ensure proper waste disposal measures are followed.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.

Work Environment

This position requires readiness to work in a remote location.
