About the Role

Astek Middle East is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its fully remote engineering team. This role focuses on building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes environments, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices. The successful candidate will collaborate with software engineers, architects, and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions. This position is suitable for engineers who focus on automation, continuous improvement, and solving complex production challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure.
Manage and administer Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools.
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Implement GitOps deployment strategies using ArgoCD or similar tools.
Monitor infrastructure health using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent monitoring solutions.
Ensure infrastructure security, availability, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance.
Troubleshoot production incidents and optimize system performance.
Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve deployment processes and release automation.
Support cloud migrations and cloud infrastructure optimization.
Implement best practices for networking, security, scalability, and automation.
Document infrastructure architecture, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
Strong Linux system administration experience.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production.
Excellent knowledge of Docker and containerization.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud, or DigitalOcean).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
Experience implementing infrastructure security best practices.
Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
Experience working within Agile teams.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
