Mindrift - Data annotation is seeking an English-Chinese Bilingual Speaker for a remote voice recording project. This freelance opportunity involves recording short, casual voice clips that naturally blend English and Chinese, reflecting everyday conversation. The role is project-based, offering flexibility without fixed hours or long-term commitment beyond what suits your schedule. Compensation is up to $5 per hour equivalent, depending on the specific project.

Project Overview

This project contributes to AI training platforms, focusing on capturing authentic bilingual speech. Participants will engage in unscripted conversations, expressing thoughts, opinions, or daily experiences, naturally switching between English and Chinese. The emphasis is on genuine, spontaneous speech patterns rather than formal grammar or structured scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Record voice clips, typically 1-2 minutes in length, in response to prompts or short videos.
• Speak naturally, incorporating both English and Chinese as would occur in daily conversation.
• Complete multiple clips per recording session.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Language Proficiency: Full bilingualism in English and Chinese, with fluency or native proficiency in both. Candidates must naturally mix the two languages during speech.
• Experience: 0-1 years of relevant experience.
• Equipment: Any recording device is acceptable, including a smartphone. No specialized studio equipment is required.
• Recording Environment: A quiet room free from background noise such as music, television, traffic, or other voices.
• Audio Quality: Clear voice, recorded close to the microphone, with a single speaker and no echo. While not mandatory, a headset or earbuds with a microphone can enhance audio clarity.

Work Environment

This is a remote, freelance opportunity, allowing participants to work from any comfortable location. The work is flexible, with payment issued per approved recording. Maintaining quiet, clean audio is critical, as background noise or unclear speech may affect recording approval.
