The Role: Financial Crime Manager

HSBC Saudi Arabia is seeking a Financial Crime Manager to join its team. This full-time role is open exclusively to Saudi Nationals and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The manager will be instrumental in supporting and directing financial crime compliance across all business lines, with a particular focus on KYC and Customer Due Diligence requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and direction on Financial Crime Compliance, especially regarding KYC and Customer Due Diligence.
  • Review new or amended laws, rules, regulations, and HBSA policies, assessing their applicability and guiding business areas to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate with CMA and other regulatory authorities, resolving queries and issues as needed.
  • Assist in audit committees and support remediation efforts for financial crime gaps identified during reviews.
  • Ensure the implementation of an effective Compliance training program within HSBC SA.
  • Make recommendations for the onboarding and retention of high-risk rated customers.
  • Review the quality and completeness of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) information.
  • Escalate negative hits, sanctions exposure, or AML exposure to the Risk Reputational Client Selection Committee.
  • Support efforts to proactively improve KYC processes for sanctions compliance.
  • Assist the Financial Crime function in implementing an effective framework and controls to protect the bank.
  • Conduct effective and timely investigations into assigned cases, adhering to reporting requirements and service level agreements.
  • Manage Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS) referrals and Transaction Monitoring System (SAS) alerts, escalating high-risk issues.
  • Support daily trade and communications surveillance, as well as transaction monitoring across business lines.
  • Assess and test the adequacy of controls within the Covered Business.
  • Update the Watchlist immediately and conduct all required investigations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant financial crime or compliance role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AML, Sanctions, AB&C, Tax Evasion, Internal and External Fraud, and Market Surveillance.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Ability to conduct thorough investigations and produce high-quality investigative narratives.
  • Experience in managing and escalating financial crime risks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for interacting with regulators and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing customer records and reports.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and provide support when needed.
