Kannada Linguistic QA Specialist

About the Role

SuperAnnotate is seeking a Kannada Linguistic QA Specialist for a remote, contract position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Kannada AI training projects as a Kannada Quality Assurance Lead (QAL). The specialist will review AI-generated Kannada content and trainer/QA work, evaluating output quality against project guidelines and providing precise written feedback.

Role Context and Impact

This position is with SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate specializing in AI Data Services. The Kannada Quality Assurance Lead will ensure that all contributors adhere to expected quality standards, assessing work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and adherence to project-specific rubrics. The role directly contributes to improving AI models by ensuring Kannada training data is natural, accurate, culturally appropriate, well-documented, and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Monitoring: Spot-check Kannada items, identify quality issues, provide ongoing feedback, and escalate recurring or critical issues.
• Trainer and QA Communication: Update trainers and QAs on new item guidelines, project changes, workflow updates, and quality expectations.
• Question Handling: Respond to trainer/QA questions clearly and promptly, particularly regarding Kannada wording, register, translation fidelity, cultural context, regional variation, and edge cases.
• Trainer/QA Activation Management: Engage inactive or non-working contributors, encourage activation, track follow-ups, and flag availability issues.
• Documentation: Create and maintain Kannada project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Onboarding and Training: Schedule and conduct onboarding/training calls with trainers and QAs to explain project expectations, workflows, rubrics, quality standards, and Kannada-specific style requirements.
• Quality Alignment: Ensure all trainers and QAs consistently apply Kannada language guidelines and understand updates as projects evolve.
• Process Improvement: Identify recurring quality gaps, propose workflow improvements, and help build scalable QA processes for Kannada-language projects.

Required Skills and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Strong proficiency in both Kannada and English.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Structured communication skills.
• Ability to manage quality workflows across remote teams.

Work Environment

This is an hourly, remote contractor role, offering flexibility while requiring consistent engagement to manage quality workflows across distributed teams. The position is based in Saudi Arabia.
