About the Role

SuperAnnotate is seeking a Malayalam Language Expert for a full-time, hourly, remote contractor position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves working as a Malayalam Language Specialist (SME) to review AI-generated Malayalam content and create high-quality Malayalam reference content. The specialist will evaluate language quality and step-by-step reasoning, providing precise written feedback.

Role Context

This position is with SME Careers, a rapidly expanding AI Data Services company and a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. SME Careers provides training data to leading AI companies and foundation-model labs globally. The expertise of the Malayalam Language Expert will directly contribute to enhancing premier AI models by improving the naturalness, reliability, cultural accuracy, and clarity of their Malayalam language output.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and quality-check existing translations of English science benchmark questions (ARC) in Malayalam.
• Compare original translations and AI-proposed corrections against the English source, focusing strictly on accuracy and faithfulness rather than stylistic improvements.
• Assess outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts.
• Identify errors in meaning, mistranslation, register (formal vs. informal), ambiguity, and logical consistency.
• Fact-check claims as needed.
• Write high-quality rewrites and model answers that demonstrate best practices in Malayalam writing.
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses based on correctness and overall quality.
• Review only the question and answer choices, select the appropriate outcome (accept original, accept AI correction, edit final translation, or escalate), and provide a brief review comment.
• Preserve the source exactly, including its meaning, difficulty, answer structure, scientific terminology, and protected elements, while adhering to provided core and language-specific guidelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in the Malayalam language.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, remote contractor position, offering flexibility while contributing to global AI development.

Compensation

Compensation for this role will be provided on an hourly basis.
