Acwa China is seeking an Operations Manager for a full-time position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves leading and managing the operating functions of a CCGT power plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The manager will ensure adherence to established procedures, contractual requirements, production schedules, and performance objectives.

Role Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for comprehensive operational planning, effective workforce management, and maintaining optimal plant performance. This includes ensuring compliance with HSE and IMS standards, leading emergency preparedness efforts, and driving continuous improvement across all operating activities within the power plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all plant operations, including normal operation, start-up, shutdown, planned outages, and emergency activities, prioritizing the safety of personnel, equipment, and the environment.
• Ensure efficient plant operation, achieve production schedules, and meet established operational and performance standards, while continuously monitoring operating parameters and providing effective operational reporting.
• Contribute to technical decisions regarding plant design criteria, specifications, operating methods, modifications, and improvements, recommending procedural and schedule changes as needed.
• Manage operating resources, including workforce allocation, competency development, performance evaluation, training, and on-the-job development to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Prepare and monitor the plant operating budget and cost control activities, and conduct regular operational meetings to review progress, priorities, issues, schedules, and required actions.
• Ensure the effective implementation of IMS, HSE, environmental, legal, PTW, waste management, PPE, hazard risk assessment, and environmental aspect-impact requirements within the area of responsibility.
• Lead investigations into incidents, non-conformances, deviations, and operational issues, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors, support emergency preparedness and mock drills, report IMS and operational performance to management, and drive the achievement of plant objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant operational role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex plant operating functions.
• Strong understanding of CCGT power plant operations and associated safety and environmental regulations.

Work Environment

This is a site-based role located at a remote power plant. Candidates should be prepared for the specific conditions associated with working in such an environment.
