About Maaden and the Role

Maaden, a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Principal Specialist Exploration & PDE Data Domain. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves leading the strategic design and evolution of enterprise data architecture across both operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) environments.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that Maaden's data products, enterprise data layers, and integration patterns are standardized, scalable, high-quality, and well-governed. The Principal Specialist will provide expert guidance on how diverse OT and IT data flows should be modeled, aligned, and transformed to effectively support analytics, operations, AI/ML initiatives, and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models in alignment with business domains and enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Lead the creation and optimization of data product models, enterprise layer schemas, and domain-driven structures for both OT and IT sources.
• Ensure data models account for technology-specific requirements, including relational, non-relational, time-series, and streaming architectures.
• Architect unified modeling approaches to address complexities of OT environments, such as remote, disconnected, and heterogeneous mining/manufacturing sites, and varying data ingestion, latency, and operational constraints.
• Establish integration patterns to ensure consistent transformation logic, metadata, lineage, and data quality across OT–IT boundaries.
• Define and maintain enterprise modeling standards, guidelines, and reusable templates to ensure organizational consistency.
• Review and approve modeling deliverables from both internal teams and external vendors.
• Mentor data modelers, engineers, and analysts to enhance enterprise modeling maturity.

Technical Leadership and Guidance

As a senior technical authority, this position is responsible for defining modeling standards, shaping architecture decisions, and guiding multidisciplinary teams. The role ensures cohesion, performance, and semantic consistency across the organization's data landscape.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and managing complex data environments, particularly those involving both OT and IT systems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a dynamic environment focused on integrating and optimizing data across Maaden's operations.
