Senior BIM Draftsman

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior BIM Draftsman to provide comprehensive drafting and modeling support for various projects. This full-time role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and coordination of design elements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide BIM modeling and design support for project requirements.
• Coordinate and manage Revit models to ensure consistency and integration.
• Create Revit families and CAD blocks as needed for project specifications.
• Obtain specific design elements or CAD drafting assignments from project managers.
• Review all work for completeness and accuracy, adhering to quality control checklists.
• Submit work according to established deadlines and project schedules.
• Provide accurate weekly accounting of time spent on projects, including detailed descriptions for each entry.
• Complete printing and plotting requests efficiently.
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and adopting new digital design tools.

BIM Coordination and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with approved BIM Execution and BIM Scope Plans.
• Set up project base files to establish foundational model structures.
• Assemble composite design models for effective coordination meetings.
• Facilitate the use of composite design models in design coordination and clash detection meetings.
• Provide clash detection reports by identifying and resolving all hard and soft collisions.
• Coordinate BIM file exchange and archive milestone submittals.

Technical Drafting and Modeling

• Prepare plan sections, detail drawings, and create bills of materials and support lists.
• Generate total station files and other necessary documentation.
• Perform file management functions, including posting models, downloading model updates, and managing links and historic versioning.
• Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Develop BIM models (MEP models) up to LOD 500 and conduct clash detection for coordination purposes.
