Senior Planning Engineer

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team for a major project located in Al Ula, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to developing and managing comprehensive project schedules, monitoring progress, and providing essential planning support to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones. The position requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams, detailed analysis of project performance, and proactive management of potential delays and risks to support effective project execution and meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports on timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to gather relevant planning data.
• Analyze critical paths and constraints to determine the effect of changes on the schedule.
• Propose mitigation measures to recover slippage or avoid potential delays.
• Participate in progress meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
• Prepare extension of time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, and other contractual time-related documentation.
• Ensure all planning and scheduling activities comply with client requirements and standards.
• Support cost control and risk management functions as required.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to align schedules with resource and material availability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 12–15 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling.

Essential Skills and Tools

• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
