Senior Project Controls Engineer

About the Role

Hill International, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer for a full-time assignment in Saudi Arabia. This position is central to integrating and presenting critical project information, playing a key role in coordinating and analyzing data from various project functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The initial assignment duration is until the end of 2026, with a possibility of extension.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Senior Project Controls Engineer is responsible for providing a consistent portfolio view by combining and analyzing cost, schedule, and other project inputs. This role involves maintaining essential project forecasts, performance measures, and reporting calendars, while also identifying and explaining variances and dependencies that impact closeout targets. The successful candidate will work to ensure data completeness across contracts and resolve reporting issues with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of integrated weekly, monthly, and closeout reports, including dashboards and presentations.
• Combine and analyze cost, schedule, and other project inputs to provide a consistent portfolio view.
• Maintain project forecasts, performance measures, and reporting calendars.
• Identify and explain variances and dependencies that affect closeout targets.
• Coordinate submissions and ensure data completeness across all contracts.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel analysis tools.
• Support budget, commitment, and funding analysis in collaboration with the Lead Cost Engineer.
• Assist in schedule forecasts and tracking activities with the Lead Planner.
• Prepare cost and schedule substantiation packs for claims and final accounts.
• Work independently with senior stakeholders to resolve reporting issues.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of experience in project controls. Extensive experience in integrated cost and schedule reporting is essential. The ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with various project functions and senior stakeholders is also required.

Technical Competencies

A strong command of relevant software tools is required for this position. This includes proven proficiency in developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel analysis tools.
