About the Role

Kent is seeking a Senior QC Welding Inspector to join their team in Khurais, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for ensuring project quality and compliance with established standards. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in a similar capacity, focusing on comprehensive quality control within welding operations.

Core Inspection and Quality Assurance

• Attend all necessary inspections and testing as identified in the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Perform a variety of inspection functions and conduct continuous surveillance inspections on the project.
• Carry out inspections on Exception Items (Punch items) as documented in the Punchlist management system and ensure proper sign-off upon approval and completion.
• Perform ongoing material receiving inspections (MRI) to confirm compliance with Material Requisitions (MR), Purchase Orders (*, and Material Receiving Reports (MRR) against contract technical and specification requirements.
• Review the calibration status of all test equipment utilized on the project to ensure validity prior to use.
• Comply with all Project HSSE requirements, including PPE and work permits, and actively promote HSSE best practices.

Documentation and Compliance Management

• Record and document all deviations from the Project Quality Program and the Kent Management System, updating the Punchlist management system accordingly.
• Maintain good record keeping of all activities, inspection reports, and surveillance reports.
• Understand and ensure adherence to all required Management System documentation, processes, and procedures.
• Be familiar with document and record control practices, ensuring all quality documents comply with established requirements.
• Manage non-conformance processes and procedures, including documenting, Root Cause Analysis, investigation, corrective actions, and prevention of reoccurrence.
• Participate in project quality audits and conduct sub-contractor and vendor audits and reviews as required.

Reporting and Stakeholder Coordination

• Produce weekly and monthly reports for project Quality leadership.
• Work cross-functionally to design, develop, and track project quality objectives.
• Coordinate with client representatives to ensure expedient execution of inspections.
• Generate client Requests for Inspection (RFI) with sufficient notice for Hold, Witness, and Inspection points.
• Communicate regularly with project and functional teams to ensure all Quality needs and requirements are understood and maintained.
• Analyze data, report findings, and provide recommendations for improving quality performance, including punch list trends.

Quality System Development and Promotion

• Promote a positive quality culture throughout the organization, understanding and communicating the quality policy and organizational context.
• Embrace, embody, and promote quality management principles.
• Support the project Quality Manager(s) with the development and approvals of all required project quality documentation, such as Project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Where required, assist with the development of project Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and associated Quality Records (QRs) and Test Records (TRs) in accordance with contract and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain willingness to learn and support trainee Inspectors, providing on-the-job training.
• Promote continued professional development of Quality personnel, ensuring improvement plans and necessary training/mentoring are available.

General Responsibilities and Expectations

The Senior QC Welding Inspector will support the achievement of project and organizational goals, visions, and objectives. This includes being proactive in identifying areas for improvement and creating suitable action plans to enhance project performance. The role involves providing support to construction personnel regarding the Project Quality Program and the Kent Management System, and maintaining good working relationships with all Kent and Client personnel. Additionally, the inspector will assist in employee selection, career development, succession planning, periodic training, and recruitment of new Quality staff where necessary. Understanding the requirements for Management Review Meetings and their inputs/outputs is also essential. Any other ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time will also be part of this role.
