About Ma'aden and the Role

Ma'aden, established in 1997 as the Saudi Arabian Mining Company, is a rapidly growing multi-commodity mining and metals company in the Middle East. The company is instrumental in developing the mining industry to become a key pillar of Saudi Arabia’s economy by building a fully integrated mining value chain. This full-time Senior Surveyor position contributes to Ma'aden's operations, supporting its ambitious growth and the future of mining in the Kingdom.

Role Overview

The Senior Surveyor is responsible for executing precise surveying activities crucial for mining operations. This role involves the accurate collection, recording, and processing of survey data, ensuring equipment functionality, and contributing to the development of mining plans. The Senior Surveyor also plays a part in maintaining safety standards within field operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain surveying equipment in proper working order, ensuring correct setup and replenishment of required materials and supplies.
  • Operate surveying equipment to collect and record accurate survey data for further processing.
  • Utilize survey equipment to establish sight points and determine elevations and distances for mining operations.
  • Operate theodolites, laser levels, and other surveying equipment to take measurements and collect survey data.
  • Record collected data, perform necessary calculations, and submit the results to the supervisor for further processing.
  • Prepare hand drawings of surveyed areas, detailing elevations, distances, and transitions.
  • Input survey data into SURPAC for analysis and the development of plans and information for future mining.
  • Observe safety regulations and monitor Helpers' compliance with safety instructions.
  • Execute related duties in line with defined procedures and craft standards, keeping the supervisor informed of work progress.

Performance Indicators

  • Accuracy and timely submission of survey measurements, calculations, records, and drawings for further processing.
  • Availability of survey data in SURPAC to support mining plans and future mining activities.
  • Correct setup, maintenance, and supply of survey equipment for field operations.
  • Compliance of survey work and Helper activities with applicable safety instructions and defined procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of secondary education (12 years) followed by two years of formal training, leading to a diploma in surveying technology.
  • A minimum of five years of surveying experience specifically within the mining industry.
  • Alternatively, six years of experience in other relevant industries.
