About WSP Middle East and the Role

WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to join its supervision consultancy team. This full-time position is critical for a large-scale infrastructure development project located approximately 100 km north of Jeddah, within the Makkah region. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of survey works for construction activities.

Role Overview

The Land Surveyor will be responsible for executing and verifying all survey-related tasks to support ongoing construction. This includes establishing and maintaining survey control, verifying contractor data, and ensuring precise alignment and positioning of various infrastructure elements in accordance with project specifications and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and verify land surveying activities for infrastructure construction works.
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference markers on site.
  • Verify contractor survey data, layouts, and setting-out works to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct surveys for road networks and associated civil infrastructure works.
  • Assist in surveying works related to multi-utility infrastructure, including potable water networks, firefighting systems, gas distribution networks, stormwater drainage systems, sanitary sewage systems, power distribution networks (MV & LV), street lighting and telecom infrastructure, and irrigation and landscape works.
  • Ensure accuracy of levels, alignments, and coordinates during construction activities.
  • Review contractor survey reports, drawings, and as-built records.
  • Maintain proper documentation of survey data, measurements, and site records.
  • Coordinate with Resident Engineers and discipline engineers to ensure accurate execution of works.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in land surveying, specifically for infrastructure construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in roadworks and multi-utility infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience working with engineering consultancy firms in a supervision capacity is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to maintain accurate survey records.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in operating various surveying equipment, including Total Station, GPS, and leveling instruments.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, supporting a project near Jeddah. The role requires on-site presence to manage and verify survey activities for the infrastructure development.
