The Role of Senior Surveyor

The Senior Surveyor is responsible for the precise operation and maintenance of surveying equipment to collect and record accurate data essential for mining operations. This full-time role involves setting up equipment, managing necessary supplies, and processing survey data for further analysis. The position contributes to the ongoing growth and development of Ma'aden's mining activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize survey equipment to establish sight points and determine elevations and distances required for mining operations.
• Operate various surveying instruments, including theodolites and laser levels, to take precise measurements and collect survey data.
• Record collected data, perform necessary calculations, and submit the results to the supervisor for subsequent processing.
• Prepare hand drawings of surveyed areas, accurately depicting elevations, distances, and transitions.
• Input survey data into SURPAC software for detailed analysis and the development of plans and information for future mining activities.
• Maintain survey equipment in proper working order, ensure correct setup, and replenish survey materials and supplies as needed.
• Observe all safety regulations and monitor Helpers to ensure their compliance with safety instructions.
• Execute assigned duties in line with defined procedures and craft standards, keeping the supervisor informed of work progress.

Performance Indicators

• Survey measurements, calculations, records, and drawings are accurate and submitted promptly for further processing.
• Survey data is consistently entered into SURPAC and made available to support mining plans and future mining activities.
• Survey equipment remains correctly set up, maintained, and adequately supplied for all field operations.
• All survey work and Helper activities comply with applicable safety instructions and established procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of secondary education (12 years), followed by two years of formal training leading to a diploma in surveying technology.
• A minimum of five years of surveying experience within the mining industry, or six years in other relevant industries.
