Role Overview: Specialist - Backend Engineer

Almosafer is seeking a Specialist - Backend Engineer to join its team. This full-time role involves building new experiences, improving existing products, and developing distributed systems for the Middle East's largest travel e-commerce websites. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, collaborative, and curious, with 4+ years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Design technical and integration architectures, including development, runtime, and operations architectures.
• Define scalable solutions using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns and microservices, automating business process models and cloud-based services.
• Design message and event-driven architectures.
• Lead the implementation of large, complex solutions from establishing project requirements and goals to solution "go-live".
• Provide technical design across multiple projects and clients.
• Offer technology consulting services covering areas such as architectural strategy, architectural review/audit, and architecture roadmap.
• Manage the risks, issues, and dependencies of the scoped solution.
• Responsible for roadmaps for current and future integration technologies.
• Introduce Agile processes to the existing team.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong experience in hands-on platform delivery and architecture design.
• Full understanding of Cloud services, AWS, DevOps tools, and CI/CD processes.
• Strong experience with the full life cycle of Agile software development processes, approaches, delivery, and methods, including scaling to the Enterprise and release management processes.
• Demonstrated thought leadership and technical knowledge combined with delivery experience in areas such as:
• Legacy platform migration
• RESTful APIs and API gateways
• Microservices based architecture
• Cloud deployment (primarily AWS)
• Ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders on technical solutions.
• Excellent documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
