The Role of Sr. Route Salesman

As a Sr. Route Salesman at PepsiCo, you will be an integral part of the sales team, focusing on maximizing sales volume and achieving distribution targets. This full-time position requires adherence to operating procedures to maintain consistent standards across the region, ensuring high levels of customer service and efficient market operations. The role also involves continuous professional development through training courses and daily debriefing sessions with your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell the full range of PepsiCo products to an agreed list of customers, aiming to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Minimize product stales, ensuring levels remain below the target set by the supervisor.
• Implement agreed merchandising standards within customer outlets.
• Collect accounts receivable, including cash, cheques, and credit sales, and ensure daily reconciliation with zero stock and cash shortages.
• Maintain high levels of customer service through approved service standards and adherence to call frequency and daily route plans.
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks, maintaining the sales vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition, and reporting any defects or damage promptly.
• Agree on daily order requirements for the next selling period with the supervisor.
• Manage individual customer stock levels to minimize out-of-stock situations.
• Advise the supervisor on relevant competitor activities observed in the assigned area.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to high standards of driving and traffic regulations.

Performance Indicators

• Achievement of daily and weekly sales targets versus planned sales.
• Daily positive calls versus plan.
• Adherence to daily call sequence versus plan.
• Maintaining stales below the set target.
• Ensuring zero cash and stock shortages.
