Supervisor Occupational Safety & Health

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Supervisor-Occupational Safety & Health to join their team. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all associates within the hotel. The role involves assessing risks, inspecting facilities, and leading safety programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess risks in the hotel work environment to minimize associate illness and injury.
• Inspect hazardous factors, equipment quality, and facilities used by associates.
• Advise, monitor, and report on workplace safety, engaging staff in safe practice programs.
• Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
• Complete safety training and certifications, and verify uniform and personal appearance standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate service needs, and thank guests professionally.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, prepare accurate documents, and answer telephones appropriately.
• Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond to employee concerns.
• Verify adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Physical Requirements

• Read and visually verify information in various formats.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to complete safety training and certifications.
• Some states may have additional licensing/registration requirements for this position.
