Senior Contracts / Commercial Manager

About the Role

Mace Group is seeking a Senior Contracts / Commercial Manager to join its team in Riyadh and Abha, Saudi Arabia. This part-time role involves combining construction expertise with consultancy to support a significant mixed-use development, contributing to the region's future vision and growth aspirations.

Project Context

This position supports a transformative mixed-use development located in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The programme aims to establish a world-class destination, integrating residential, commercial, hospitality, leisure, and public realm components. The project offers an opportunity to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary team on a large-scale development that contributes to the Kingdom's ongoing transformation and creates a lasting legacy for the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer contracts, warranties, bonds, and licenses, ensuring compliance and formal execution.
• Lead teams and cost consultants, driving behaviours that achieve KPIs and embed continuous improvement.
• Manage valuations, variations, cost control, and reporting, maintaining financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee claims evaluation, contract completion, and certification processes, securing fair resolution and client satisfaction.
• Deliver improvements in systems and processes, applying best practice and lessons learned to drive transformational change.
• Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Degree in quantity surveying, commercial management, cost management, or an equivalent qualification.
• Professional membership (MRICS/RICS).
• Minimum 20 years of total professional experience, including at least 7 years of experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Extensive experience in contract administration, claims management, and the commercial management of large-scale, complex infrastructure and building projects.
• Relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, required for immigration and client approval.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong commercial and financial acumen with proven business development expertise.
• Detailed knowledge of contracts, value engineering, sustainability, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
