Role Overview

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Director of Engineering for the pre-opening phase of The Ritz-Carlton Diriyah. This full-time position involves leading the engineering, maintenance, facilities management, and asset protection functions. The Director of Engineering is a key member of the hotel leadership team, responsible for ensuring the physical assets operate to high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, while supporting guest experiences and enhancing the long-term value of the property.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring high standards of reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement an engineering strategy aligned with hotel objectives, brand standards, and owner priorities.
• Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditure projects, and long-term asset protection plans.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for all building systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical infrastructure.
• Champion sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, health, safety, environmental, and life safety requirements.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team through coaching, development, recognition, and succession planning.
• Establish relationships with ownership representatives, contractors, consultants, and regional engineering leaders to ensure successful project delivery and asset stewardship.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience required: 2-5 years in a relevant engineering leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex facilities.
• Proficiency in preventative maintenance, energy conservation, and capital project management.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, life safety systems, and emergency response protocols.
