Safety Engineer

About the Role

Jazera Arabia Contracting is seeking a qualified Safety Engineer with over 10 years of experience, specifically in road and bridge construction projects. This full-time, field-based position is located in Riyadh and Afif, Saudi Arabia, and involves overseeing health and safety activities across various construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
• Monitor safety performance and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare and implement Health and Safety Plans (HSE Plans).
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports.
• Coordinate with project teams, managers, consultants, and contractors to maintain safety standards.
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 15 years of relevant health and safety experience.
• Proven experience in road and bridge construction projects.
• Extensive experience in managing safety activities on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control measures.
• Knowledge of safety requirements for excavation, lifting operations, working at heights, and heavy equipment operations.
• Strong communication, reporting, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully field-based role.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, field-based position requiring regular presence on construction sites in Riyadh and Afif. The role involves direct oversight and coordination of safety activities within dynamic project environments.
