Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team in Al Khafji, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves planning and supervising all maintenance activities for electrical equipment within the plant, working under the direction of the Section Head. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as directed by the Section Head.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence related to work.
• Execute work orders through CMMS (SAP) and coordinate with the planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
• Ensure necessary communications and relations are maintained to report on status and ensure corrective actions are undertaken.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in executing corrective and planned maintenance in line with the annual scheduled maintenance plan.
• Perform technical evaluation of quotations from the purchase department and recommend appropriate choices.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables, ensuring budgetary constraints and strategic spares availability.
• Review and recommend new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of all personnel assigned to the area.
• Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessments are carried out, controlled, and updated.
• Implement, monitor, and report IMS objectives, targets, and programs.
• Provide necessary resources for effective implementation and sustenance of IMS.
• Report IMS performance to management periodically.
• Ensure legal, contractual, and organizational compliance within the scope of activities.
• Identify root causes for non-conformances/deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Identify competency gaps for subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions.
• Carry out annual performance evaluations of reporting employees.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees and evaluate their OJT performance.
• Identify, document, and control hazards in the assigned work area.
• Ensure identified aspects are monitored and operational controls are followed.
• Report deviations in the Integrated Management System, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Report emergencies, incidents, and near misses.
• Ensure effective resource utilization.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a plant maintenance environment.
• Proficiency in using CMMS (SAP) for work order execution and coordination.
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance principles.
• Ability to perform technical evaluations and manage procurement processes for spare parts.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a plant environment where the employee may occasionally encounter moving mechanical parts and varying outside weather conditions. There may be exposure to high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and electrical shock. The typical noise level is moderate, though very loud conditions can occur.
