Electrical Engineer

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking an Electrical Engineer to supervise and manage all operations and maintenance activities within the plant. This full-time role involves overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, planned outages, and the overhauling of electrical equipment to ensure plant availability and equipment reliability. The Electrical Engineer will also review Wind and BESS design documents, implement mobilization processes, and manage the Handover-Takeover (HOTO) process. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance and overhauling activities to ensure the continuity and reliability of plant electrical equipment.
• Manage timely responses to emergency breakdowns and implement prompt corrective actions to minimize downtime and potential liquidity damages.
• Develop and promote a condition-based preventive maintenance culture through troubleshooting and root cause analyses to reduce reactive maintenance.
• Identify, assess, and manage operational and maintenance risks, implementing mitigation measures to safeguard plant reliability and performance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of maintenance and operational activities, and support all internal and external audits.
• Troubleshoot critical equipment problems and investigate faults to determine appropriate actions and repairs, ensuring compliance with quality and HSE standards.
• Review and analyze electrical equipment maintenance data and conduct site engineering studies to assess the feasibility of modifications for increased reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare feasibility studies for new installations, replacements, or repairs of existing electrical equipment, including technical evaluations, specifications, materials, process diagrams, and cost estimates.
• Participate in forecasting manpower and material requirements for electrical maintenance plans.
• Coordinate the planning and execution of annual outage maintenance for critical electrical equipment, providing technical support to meet EHS, scope, cost, and timeline objectives.
• Ensure all electrical maintenance documentation is accurately completed in SAP, including maintenance logs, fault outlines, repair methods, and resource utilization.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant HSSE and permit-to-work systems, instructions, controls, and procedures.
• Lead the preparation of monthly and annual requirements for equipment, spare parts, and general materials for the electrical unit.
• Conduct technical evaluations in collaboration with the procurement department to recommend appropriate materials and equipment.
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with internal departments and external contractors.
• Liaise with EPC/OEM contractors for clarification, analysis, and technical guidance.
• Supervise the effective administration of SAP processes within the Electrical maintenance section, adhering to guidelines for planning, scheduling, and data management.
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs, and projects.
• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.
• Supervise the activities and work of team members (1-3 direct reports, 4 indirect reports) to ensure targets and objectives are achieved.

Working Relationships

The Electrical Engineer will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Section Heads, Supervisors, Technicians, and the Operations Team internally. Externally, the role involves close collaboration with relevant contractors, vendors, and all stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of project and operational activities.
