The General Accountant is the employee responsible for recording and analyzing all financial transactions within the organization. The General Accountant prepares daily and monthly financial reports and supervises the implementation of all accounting operations in accordance with the approved standards. He also collaborates with other departments to ensure the accuracy of accounts and compliance with financial regulations and local and international legislation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Recording daily financial transactions such as revenues and expenses.
• Preparing monthly and annual financial reports and analyzing financial data.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Reviewing invoices and ensuring their accuracy and matching with financial records.
• Monitoring customer and supplier accounts and ensuring transaction accuracy.
• Conducting bank reconciliations and ensuring balance between bank and accounting records.
• Preparing necessary financial statements for managers and senior management.
• Assisting in preparing the general budget and monitoring expenditures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting or finance.
• At least 2 years of experience in general accounting.
• Full proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems and other related accounting programs.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Accuracy in dealing with numbers and financial information.
• Strong communication skills to work with teams and management.
• Ability to effectively solve financial problems.

• Experience of no less than five years in the field of accounting.
• Proficiency in using accounting software.

Job responsibilities
• Recording daily accounting entries.
• Disbursing advances and following up on their settlement.
• Inventory and preparing necessary adjustments.
• Recording invoices and expenses.
• Matching customer and supplier balances.
• Preparing periodic financial statements and reports.
• Preparing value-added tax returns.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and tax regulations.
• Prepare VAT/tax returns and support tax audits where applicable.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Assist management with financial analysis and reporting requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA, SOCPA, or equivalent) are preferred.
