Job Overview
The Customs Clearance Broker is responsible for managing all aspects of customs documentation and clearance procedures to ensure the efficient and timely entry of goods into Saudi Arabia. The role requires deep knowledge of Saudi Customs regulations, systems such as FASAH and SABER, and the ability to coordinate effectively with government entities, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The Customs Clearance Broker is responsible for managing all aspects of customs documentation and clearance procedures to ensure the efficient and timely entry of goods into Saudi Arabia. The role requires deep knowledge of Saudi Customs regulations, systems such as FASAH and SABER, and the ability to coordinate effectively with government entities, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Customs Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and submit complete import/export documentation per Saudi Customs (ZATCA) requirements.
- Ensure all declarations are compliant with local and international trade laws.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all customs transactions and supporting documents.
- Coordination & Liaison
- Work closely with shipping lines, transporters, and freight forwarders to ensure timely clearance.
- Communicate and coordinate with government agencies such as SFDA, SASO, MoI, etc., to obtain required approvals.
- Handle correspondence with port authorities and customs inspectors.
- HS Code Classification & Tariff Application
- Classify goods using accurate HS codes and determine applicable tariffs and duties.
- Validate tariff rates and exemptions where applicable.
- Issue Resolution & Process Optimization
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues during customs clearance.
- Proactively track and update internal teams on regulatory changes affecting imports/exports.
- Support internal audits related to customs compliance.
- Systems & Reporting
- Operate systems like FASAH, SABER, and other clearance portals for data entry and tracking.
- Generate regular reports on clearance status, compliance issues, and regulatory updates.
- Proven experience as a Customs Broker within Saudi Arabia.
- Valid Saudi Customs Broker License (if applicable).
- Strong understanding of Saudi import/export laws, ZATCA regulations, and clearance procedures.
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies (SFDA, SASO, MoI).
- Bilingual in Arabic and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and platforms such as FASAH and SABER.
